December 2009 Ranting

12-31-09 Here we are the last day of 2009 and I am not exactly sure what to say with regard to how our country has done this past year except that we are dam lucky to not be worse off than we are.

Without effective leadership and overwhelmed by a party of liberal's who are pressing their agenda to get their way while they can, we are simply lucky and can only hope that reality and common sense will enter the picture in 2010.

Many articles have appeared this year that are alarming. ONO has on many occasions talked out of both sides of his mouth and has produced nothing but confusion and worry this entire year. And, the year ends with a couple interesting articles too. One where Russia wants to share our missile defense knowledge and another where ONO is suggesting moves to lighten up on some of our countries secrets... Phew! And, we just thought the year had been interesting, and we just thought that during the holiday we'd get a rest from the ONO gang with no more stupid ideas... Wrong again!

My biggest hope and wish for 2010 politically wise is that a price is paid for the bull crap that has gone on this past year. Spending money with no accountability, making deals that are unlawful, failing to reveal what is really in the bills they want to pass.... I hope there is a complete change in this election, I want the numbers to change so that the Senate is no longer vulnerable to the DIM's but I could care less if all current incumbent's are defeated and replaced. In fact, perhaps the third party, the tea party may appear in 2010. Very possible, only time will tell.

12-30-09 Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, seems the ONO administration got lucky with the attempted blowing up of a plane to Detroit. I suppose if they had been successful then Bush would have been at fault. But, now with ONO coming out saying our security was a priority to him, perhaps he will accept responsibility if it happens again. Hey! There has got to be a first time for him somewhere....

As predicted several months ago, ole governor Schwarzenegger (don't expect me to spell that again), is about to ask for you and I to bail his state out. The liberal state of CA has money problems. And this guy is supposedly a Republican? Well, could see it coming, he has been saying nice things about ONO and finally we are there. It is a shame he doesn't have a vote in the senate to sell, could get zillion's for that... "He'll be back." You can count on that, if he gets money or if he doesn't, he will be back...

This airline travel stuff is easy to resolve. If you wish to travel, you can carry one bag and one bag only, it is not going to be very large either, you have to buy it from the government. To buy it from the government you must prove who you are and the bag will be coded to you and you alone. In other words, you have to jump through some legal identification procedures to obtain and keep this bag for your traveling. It is one size fits all and if you can't get all your stuff in the one bag, or it is to much trouble, then you will have to ship your stuff to your destination so it will be there when you arrive, or buy it when you get there. The new bag will be designed to be tracked at all times and in most cases when you pack you will be inspected then your bag will be sealed until you arrive at your destination where they will unseal it for you upon your arrival. You want privacy, you want to carry a house full of stuff with you on a trip, you want your rights honored when you travel? Drive a car then, don't expect to fly...

Airline travel has become a show piece for terrorists to try and attack, yet, I guarantee you that they are working on other methods to kill a large number of people in one blast. Exactly what it is, I am not sure just yet, but right now an airplane in the air is vulnerable to just one relatively small bomb. They'll figure it out, I have a few ideas, but for fear Osama might read this I won't put it on here.

Seems Russia made a major deal with Iraq to refine oil. Where are the Dim's now claiming that is why Bush attached them in the first place?

Oh my, enough of that, a brief lull until 2010 arrives and they re-start their socialist agenda, until then, try to relax.

12-21-09 This will be my last rant until sometime after Christmas. We can not let anything ruin our holiday with our family. All we can hope and wish for is that perhaps a true Christmas present will present itself and some of this socialist crap will get nixed in the bud...

I can only hope that this blatant disregard for the will of the people, selling your vote for special projects and interests will result in the Dimocratic party falling further out of favor. Unfortunately there are so many who do not work and depend on hand outs from the government that their numbers and their votes are huge.

It is going to be a long drawn out battle, I sure hope we win!

Happy Holiday's everyone, enjoy what we got now for who knows what we will have in the future!

12-20-09 The deal has been struck, as we figured they reached language that was acceptable to the senator from Nebraska and he got even more. In an absolute outrage, Nebraska will be exempt from paying fees that the other 49 states will have to pay 2 years down the road for Medicaid residents. There also are a few other little save some bucks tweaks in there for the state of Nebraska also.

Well, were I a senator or congress person from my state I would certainly find out why my state wouldn't be exempt from these payments also. I mean after all, is my vote not worth something too?

We are headed for a great staged vote on December 24th to pass this version in the senate. Our only hope is that after the holiday they will not be able to bring the senate and house versions together. We've wished this on here several times before, that saner heads will prevail, after all this time I am wondering, as it is clearly true that when it comes to politicians, they all have their price.

Are we on the verge of a third party? Probably so, the "tea party" is not going to go away. I may have to register differently one day...

12-18-09 Here we are after all this time apparently one vote away from passing an unknown health care bill that has been written, re-written, re-written, adjusted, changed to appease one person, changed to appease another person and likely will be changed at the very last minute so that the senator from Nebraska can walk up to the microphone and say that the change made "just now" resolves the issues of the people whom he represents.

In my opinion there is not a person there from ONO on down that has a clue as to the full contents of this bill they are about to pass. You have each person on track to get their favorite piece into the bill from free medical coverage for illegals to allowing abortions to allowing lawyers to sue for any and everything, etc... Nobody knows the full content and full ramifications of this bill once it passes.

At the same time nearly 80% of those polled are alarmed at the debt we have assumed in the past year. Add to that 80% of the rest of the world as they watch the US flail about in a recession while trying to spend its way out of this problem acquiring more debt.

Either I am absolutely right or I am absolutely stupid, I do not see how this is going to work. All I see is a major life style change coming where costs are going to go up and cause significant issues for all of us as we try to maintain our lives and families with the life style we currently enjoy.

I sure hope I am wrong, let me say that loudly I SURE HOPE I AM WRONG! But I fear that this bill is going to be passed and for one reason only. The dim's want to pass a health care bill for the sake of passing a bill on health care. That is their goal, it doesn't matter what the contents of the bill is, just as long as they can pass it while they have a majority to do so. It has been a big battle, this is going to change our lives forever, and I hope every single person who voted for this will loose their position of power as a result.

12-16-09 Depending on what you read, the health bill is now near passage or dead in the water. ONO had his 60 lock step cronies in for a pep rally and afterwards all seems well for the majority team. Bottom line is that ONO says he wants to pass this because passing something is better than nothing. This logic follows the steps being taken to move the off shore prison for terrorists to Illinois because he said he would close it to appease the ACLU and the wimp liberals who have a problem with cruelty towards people who do bad things against our country. And, as pointed out a few days ago, we wait for the court martial of 3 Navy seals for an apparent fat lip on a recently captured terrorist.

I have said this before and here we are again feeling that something is going to be passed health care wise. They have the 60 votes and control congress. They are wheeling and dealing to pass "something" no matter what as they know their majority is going to come apart at the next election.

All the while realizing that the majority are opposed to these moves.. Now what does that tell you about the Democratic party?

12-14-09 At this time there are 3 Navy Seals who are being court martialed for allegedly slapping a terrorist that they captured in Iraq. There are no witnesses to this alleged abuse only the terrorist having a fat lip and saying that he was slapped.

This my friends should be stopped. If it continues it is as a result of the ONO administration failing once again to support those who protect our country.

A group of Republican law makers have sent a letter to Gates asking that he drop these charges. If he doesn't, then it will be clear that ONO is appeasing his far left liberal support by prosecuting these soldiers.

Stuff like this has got to stop, I worry that what silly crap we see like this is only the tip of the iceberg, I worry that things to weaken our security are going on that we don't know about. The main stream media doesn't report on this as they continue to support their God by hiding what is happening.

12-12-09 The problem with these climate talks between all nations of the world is that the proposed changes are to effect primarily the US. Oh yes, there are some other countries who say they will do this and that, but the major impact is to our country. Which isn't all a bad thing, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with cleaning up things but there are things that must be made to exist and if you make them here in the US or over in China or India they are still being made are they not?

The earth is getting to many people on it for it to support. That is the source of global warming. As the number of people increase so is the demand for food, fuel and the many items necessary to exist. China is now catching up to us with every family over there wanting a car like we have. They want what we have had for many years and the demand grows on all our resources.

It is to early to say how this climate thing will turn out, but one thing is clear, it is going to cost us money wise. We are going to come out on the hind end of this deal no matter what they say.

Ultimately there is going to be a war over resources. Not sure if it will be oil or water but both are absolutely essential to life as we know it today.

12-11-09 Funny stuff happens all the time, Reid leading the senate said last weekend that they would stay there until the bill was passed, yet he is wanting to take this coming weekend off to attend a fund raiser for himself.

People just don't seem to remember anything, the TARP bail out for the banks was put into place under Bush, who received a great deal of negative comments about the bail out. It was a loan, to be paid back with interest, and as it turns out, it was an excellent idea at the right time and it did serve its purpose to hold up the banks who were tangled up in money flow problems. This money the US loaned to the banks was borrowed, it didn't exist, they printed it as they needed it. Well, now the banks are paying it back as the program was designed, and what does ONO want to do with it? He wants to use it as stimulus #2. Which isn't actually legally allowed and is suppose to go back to paying down the debt. Remember, this was borrowed money we used.

Stimulus #1 was borrowed money also, it was passed quickly and so far despite all the claims to how many jobs it created, nobody will keep this on the front burner and point out that the money is being wasted and it has not created that many jobs. In some cases it is out and out lies about some of their claims to the number of jobs, and then there are "green" jobs. There was a piece on Fox where it investigated these green jobs and found where 280 people were paid to go to school for a couple of months. OK, 280 jobs times 2 months. They were paid $10.00 an hour and they learned how to winterize homes. I guess the training was done well, they learned a lot. Now that the school is over, 3 out of the 280 have jobs, 277 do not and it is not known if these 3 have the green jobs they trained to perform. Maybe this is why ONO keeps offering tax credits for home projects, he is trying to get these people to work somewhere.

Another example of the "green" jobs is the 265 million project in MA that happened 6 months or so ago, where they are creating solar panels. 800 jobs, fueled by tax payer money. The project is a flop, most have been let go and the largest provider of solar panels to the US is China who can make them for less than half what we make them for.

I call this funny today, but it is perplexing that the DIM's continue to go their merry way and are never ever held accountable for their actions. The 2 situations above are only the tip of the thorn that we have jabbed into our skin, there are thousands more that you never hear a peep about.

Saw in the paper this morning where water and sewer rates are going up in a town close. Ours go up in January, the article had excerpts from several people who were outraged at the increase. Better get used to it.. Also in the paper was an article where 500 coal miners in WV have been let go due to the EPA closing down the mining projects. Guess these guys will be the next group for "green" jobs...

12-10-09 My prediction and challenge issued on March 31st is becoming a reality! I said originally in 6 months to a year, well, it is going to be closer to a year and maybe a few months longer, but it is coming. Why the delay? The delay is caused by the fight underway to stop this from happening. In the minority the Republican's can not win, the Dim's continue to change the playing field to suit their current daily need and slowly they make progress to change the US as we know it. And, the tea party demonstrations played a part as well to slow this down, but they have been forgotten, the dim's work their procedural magic and negotiate behind closed doors to shove this health care and environmental legislation through while ignoring the main problem they created which is our debt.

Hamburgers are getting smaller to remain a 99 cent special, ice cream costs more and isn't even a gallon, utility costs for water and electric and gas are going up, tax increases on the local, state level are going up and wait until the tax increase for the fed expires next year!

In his speech Tuesday ONO stood up in front of everyone and read his prepared comments. I just happened to watch part of it on Fox. During the first several minutes he blamed the previous administration for the problem he inherited. Not once but 4 times and I gave up watching at that point. ONO bobbs his head left to right reading and always spends more time blaming who created the problem rather than offering a solution. Yet, the problem we are having now is the result of his spend and spend some more tactics. The recession, after the bail out of the banks to hold them steady would now be well into recovery, but, with the spending ONO put into place to bail out GM and the failed stimulus program we are not seeing the recovery... They just don't get it!

With this tremendous debt, the constant drumming of more debt from the new programs being forced, no wonder people are concerned, afraid and jobs are scarce. What business wants to expand when there is so much doubt as to what the government will or will not control or force upon every business. So many suggestions have come out that the ONO admin may choose to run each and every business, even the private ones... That ain't good folks!

Before I get to ramped up here, I'll end by saying that ONO said in his speech and in an interview later that our only alternative to resolve this recession is to spend our way out of it... We're in debt beyond belief, he wants to add to the debt with a new health program and he wants to use the returned TARP funds for stimulus plan #2...

As I said on March 31st. This is going to come due at some point, if you haven't been watching, do it now, hold on the "love" is coming.

12-9-09 The pressure is intense, for months now we have watched the DIM lawmakers push one way then another, make one claim after another and despite a concentrated opposing effort they continue. It is relentless. They have imposed that the health care change should be made because dead Ted would want it, they have resorted to calling conservatives racist on several occasions and basically have used every verbal trick in the book. They also have attempted procedural maneuvers to block opposition, change past procedure, etc.. All the time they have been supported by the main stream media. Who chooses to report what the DIM's need and not much of what the opposition has to say.

Most disappointing to me is the failure of the Republicans to nix this completely. Their attempt to compromise because of the historical significance of this legislation is not good. I would like to see the whole program shelved, then the logical selection of a particular aspect of health care addressed. Create a program for a single aspect, perhaps prescriptions, work that program out, start it and work out a model that can be used for future health care expansion. The whole idea of suddenly insuring everybody and all the confusion from the millions of pages of paperwork that has been created is going to be a disaster.

I guess that is asking to much, for common sense to come into play. I for one hope we can survive through this Christmas without them forcing this down our throats. Maybe after a Christmas break (August didn't help though), wiser heads will prevail.

During all this we have witnessed the DIM's pull some serious tricks. I can only hope that the Republican's will realize that a precedent has been set, that in the future they also can use these methods.

12-8-09 If you do a little thinking back and some research you know that 99% of DIM politicians are typically lawyers. As such they normally have liberal beliefs and normally have some special interest group that is their favorite. On the other hand, the typical Republican politician is not a lawyer. Businessman, historian or some other profession other than being a lawyer. Kind of points out why Republican's are conservative huh?

In the past few days some very expected things have happened in this health care debate.

Senate DIM's have voted to protect the fees charged by malpractice lawyers. The proposal by Republican's to reduce the amount that the lawyer could make was soundly defeated by the DIM, lawyer, majority. Taking care of their own you could say...

Would it make sense to reduce what a lawyer could make? Would it make sense to limit what a wall street executive can make? Would it make sense to limit what the CEO of GM or some other major company makes? Well, as long as you are not a lawyer it does...

Now, lets consider another thing. Lets say you are in your mid 20's and you have a business idea, you want to start up a business to help support your family and the cost is reasonable, lets say about 5 grand. But, you have a problem, you only have been able to save up 5 grand but you have a upcoming mandatory health insurance payment due. Mandatory? Why yes... If the DIM plan passes you must have health insurance. They'll give the poor money to a certain point but not all of it. So, what do you do? If this passes this will come up a lot, perhaps it is designed to help lawyers because if you don't pay you go to jail and will need a lawyer.

Hmmm, if you go to jail for not having health insurance, then you have a place to stay, food and health care.. So we have a solution here I guess, if you need health care, don't buy insurance and go to jail.

Phew! Some of this stuff gets complicated way beyond belief..

It is interesting to note that ONO's Afghan surge is something that he is touting based upon the success of the Iraq surge results. Well, during the presidential campaign, ONO frequently discussed how he was strongly opposed to the war in Iraq and the surge in 2007. Having it both ways I guess.

12-7-09 Senate is meeting on the weekends! ONO!!! This is not good, will take a few days to see the results of their special urgent session. DIMs claim they will stay through Christmas to pass this bill, OK, works for me if you want to spend your holiday there with your fellow liberal idiots. Just make sure you have a good supply of fruit cake on hand.

Report is that the initial US military offensive since ONO authorized a troop surge after 90 days thinking about it has meet with little resistance. Is that a surprise? As I mentioned in my last post, why would I, if I were one of them choose to fight you now when I know when you are leaving? I'll just go take a rest, get some more recruits and more weapons and when the time comes, we'll be bigger and stronger and you'll be gone...

ONO is going to announce some job creation ideas here before long I read. This will be interesting to say the least. This comes on the heals of job data indicating that we lost fewer jobs this past month. Already they are talking about the turn around and jobs coming back. I think ONO better have some serious ideas that will work, we are not out of the woods just yet.

12-5-09 Back from our trip, it was great but good to be home. We were busy with family issues but did get to follow some issues. Brief comments are: Climate gate as they are calling it, not well into this right now but previously I have commented in my rants my belief that global warming is not as serious as they say. And, now it seems that many things are incorrect and have been created, perhaps to pass their agenda. And, while on our trip I read a related article where 11 coal fired energy plants are being closed in NC. That is just NC and who knows how many other states. Where is this electric going to come from folks? We are not building any nuclear power plants, while China has 12 under construction at this time. Are we going to run a long extension cord across the ocean for our power in the future? ONO and the DIM's have blocked nuclear power development, they have blocked the AK oil exploration plans, they want to stop the use of coal and thus the plants are closing and in coal producing states such as WV, you play hell getting permits approved to mine these days. Thousands are out of jobs as a result, closing those plants more will loose their jobs as well.

ONO took 3 plus months to decide to send 30,000 troops instead of 40,000 troops that were requested and decided to put in place a deadline of 18 months... Now what do you suppose will happen during the next 18 months? Better yet, what do you expect to happen 19 months from now? They now have 18 months to train and supply themselves with weapons for the pull out and back in power they go stronger than ever...

Again, all the news seems to continue to prove that ONO and the DIM's and the liberals are wrong, why doesn't anyone notice? Why hasn't the climate gate issues not been reported in the main stream press? On and on it goes...
