If anyone ever wanted proof that the internet is a excellent resource for genealogy, then these two pictures are just that.
My web site had been up and running for almost two years when one day I received an e-mail from a Marion Bloom. Unknown to me, Marion is a cousin living in TN and on my line. And, to my wonder and surprise, she told me that portraits of my Great Great Grandparents still exist! And are in the possession of another cousin who we did not know.
Marion was kind enough to take photos of the portraits for me, these I scanned and have below on this page.
Had it not been for my personal web page, I never would have known. Personally, I am very grateful to Marion and I think it is wonderful to look at these photos from so many years ago!
Let me present to you, Lyman Taft Gunn (1810-1890) and Caroline M. Morehead (1817-1855). Portraits circa 1840.
